Leather Bomber and a Spring “re-fresh”

I know that it’s a little late in the season to still be posting outfits with beanie hats and leather jackets, but let’s be real… Colorado had a freak snow storm last week so I think I can get away with it.

This past month I’ve been thinking a lot about refocusing my priorities and pursuing people and activities that add a little “soul-food” to my life. I’m not quite sure what that looks like, but I think part of it is slowing down and breathing into the empty spaces.

I think it means less late nights, and more Sunday mornings. Less t.v. watching and more novel reading. Less microwaved meals and more family cooking, complete with kitchen dancing and a bottle of pink rose.

This started a couple of weekends ago when my sweet friend Emily and I ran away to Buena Vista for the weekend. We had nothing on the agenda and feeling slightly giddy about being in such a beautiful place with literally no obligations.

We walked around quite mountain towns, sipped creamy, hot chocolate and even wandered into some art galleries bursting with music and color. We soaked in steamy hot springs with quiet mountain rivers in the background, all the while being surrounded by Colorado’s Collegiate peaks.

To say I left that weekend feeling refreshed and a little renewed would be an understatement, and it left me with a feeling I’ve been striving to hold on to in the middle of my day-to-day city life.

How do you stay focused and “refreshed”?
