Happy Friday Y’all!

I hope you had a good week, and to kick off the weekend I’m sharing one of my favorite looks right now: peasant blouses.

I love how sweet and effortless this look is, and I especially love the tie-front detail. This look paired with some white skinny jeans and heels feels like the perfect weekend happy hour look with a hot date (and by that I mean all my girlfriends πŸ˜‰ …)

On another note, lets talk about our girlfriends. Earlier this week I wrote about the Eight Different Types of Friends Every Girl Needs, and got some positive feedback about how important it actually is to cultivate these different relationships with different types of people.

I keep talking about this year being a “transition” phase of life, (you’re all like “we get it- you’re in transition”) but this summer has been even more so. Without going into the gory details, I find myself in a new season of singleness with new voids and time to fill. So I’ve been pushing myself to really pursue new types of people, specifically “creatives” and it’s been so rewarding.

I’ve been meeting photographers, stylists, bloggers and musicians. We’ve talked about art and inspiration, watched Woody Allen movies and drank too much pink rose. Baked delicious bacon-wrapped dates with creamy feta and sugary balsamic. I’ve stayed up too late, and drank too much caffeine. It’s been tiring, and at times completely uncomfortable but one of the best things I could be doing for myself this summer.

My friend Emily (photographer of my most recent posts and total lady boss) recently posted something on her Instagram and it resonated perfectly with me.

“the answer is…. always simple, just go do it; just go shoot, just go edit, just go write, just go create. I’m finding it one of life’s sweetest gifts to be surrounded by women who are strong and confident and will choose to stand beside you no matter what. Women who are opinionated and unapologetic for being the loudest, messiest, most authentic versions of themselves. Women who fiercely fight for you and have an unwavering presence in your life. I’m thankful for my small but growing tribe of creatives.”- Emily Harpe

I don’t know where you’re at in your own life, but hopefully you’re taking time to pursue new people and giving yourself some time and freedom to be creative in whatever way that looks for you. Happy weekend πŸ™‚

I found this peasant blouse locally at W Boutique off of University, but some other cute looks can be found here and here. Also, these white skinnies are my new obsession. I got them at Anthropologie (sold out) but some other options can be found here and here.
