10 Spring Trends

Spring has sprung, and although the weather in Colorado still has it’s bi-polar moments with 12″ spring snow storms, I couldn’t be more excited about transitioning from my heavy winter wardrobe into something that is lighter and has more color.

As always, there are trends that were shown on the runways that are just too much for me, but I’ve decided to put together a little list of the spring trends that I’m totally on board with, and can’t wait to try for myself.

1. Fringe

Doesn’t matter where it is or what color. Something I’m all about this season is fringe. I love it on jackets, shoes, you name it.

2. Shoulder Cut-Outs

This in combo with off the shoulder necklines is super hot. I’m loving how feminine and flirty this look is.

3. Romantic Ruffles

I’m not one to go crazy for ruffles, but this season’s larger, more subtle ruffle is so pretty. I love how it adds a little body and movement to different pieces without being super in-your-face ruffles.

4. Sleeveless Trench Coat

Both the sleeveless trench and blazer are great for spring. They add another layer when the weather isn’t quite warm enough, but without weighing down your look.

5. Mini Bag

Smaller, more structured bags are big for this spring season. I’m love how small and functional the mini bags are, because when the weather warms up it seems like everything around us can lighten up too.

6. Flared Denim

No one can deny that the 70s are having their moment again. Flared denim makes me a little nervous, but I love the way it can balance out a top-heavy frame.

7. Peep-toe Booties

I’ve said this before, but I believe boots are a year-round shoe, so adding a little peep-toe to a light camel colored suede bootie is right up my alley. It’s still a boot, but lets your feet breathe a little in the warmer months.

8. Bomber Jacket

I love the shape of bomber jackets, and how many different textiles are being used to make these jackets this season. I’ve seen some great lace/mesh bomber jackets, or even polyester.

9. Matching Sets

Like the queen of matching sets, Ms. Taylor Swift, I love how figure flattering and structured matching sets are, while still being fun with different patterns and pops of color.

10. Midi Skirts

Whether it’s an A-line or pencil skirt, the mid-length is in this season. I think it’s a nice break from drastic mini or maxi skirts and dresses.
