I count myself VERY lucky to know the woman behind today’s post. We met when I was a twiggy sixth grader with a big mouth and even bigger opinions. Through the years she’s been one of my biggest supporters and largest advocates for my own self-worth. She’s one of the most generous people I know in every aspect of her life, and one thing she’s given abundantly beyond her time and energy is her advice. Below is some thoughts she wanted to share with all of you beautiful readers. Thanks for being on my team Dana, and challenging me to be the best version of myself. Love you!

Last week I had a friend ask me if I was boycotting Instagram.
She’d noticed that I hadn’t posted anything in a while. Two months to be exact. But the truth is, I just haven’t had much to say.
Guys. Some exciting things are happening over here at Chasing Whimsy… This week I was approved for LIKEtoKNOW.it!
For those of you that aren’t as fashion crazy as me, LIKEtoKNOW.it is a platform that let’s you shop your favorite looks on Instagram, and its seriously so freaking easy. All the work is done for you, simply by signing up (here), every time you ‘like’ a photo from Instagram you’ll receive an email directly to your inbox with all the deets.
I know that it’s a little late in the season to still be posting outfits with beanie hats and leather jackets, but let’s be real… Colorado had a freak snow storm last week so I think I can get away with it.
Spring has officially showed up in Denver, rain showers and all. So I finally feel like I can start wearing bright colors, lighter layers and fun patterns…cue Gingham.
There’s literally so many things about this look that I love. First, I’m obsessed with this Gingham button-up. I’ve been seeing Gingham everywhere this season, and I especially love the contrasting sleeves on this top.
All I ask of you:
Be my slow-motion dance.
Be my birthday earthquake.
Be my spiral marble staircase in the middle of a Vermont meadow.
Be my handstand on a barstool,
my whirlwind week in clown school,
my joke shared with a Siberian shaman
while shopping for T-shirts at Sears.
Be my last because.
Ok, I know florals for spring is anything less than groundbreaking, but can we just all admit that this little bomber jacket is one of the cutest things you’ve ever seen?
This blush color has become my obsession this spring. Paired with the ruffles, this pink shirt is so feminine and fun, it feels so light and flirty for spring. The sleeves are also a great length… not too hot not too cold (Miss Congeniality anyone?). This top is also from the Who What Wear collection with Target, which has been KILLING it recently. Everything they just came out with feels so fresh for spring, and who can say no at Target?
What’s your springtime obsession?
Y’all. It’s give-away time, and I’m freaking excited about this one. I’ve teamed up with Jord Wood Watches to give one lucky winner a $100 gift card to put towards their own wood watch! Not only that, but everyone that fills out the entry form will get their own $25 gift card. Amaaaaaazingggg
